Upcoming Temporary Disruptions
To ensure a smooth and efficient construction process, some temporary disruptions will occur. Please see details below:
Road & Footpath Closures – Gantry Installation Works
---
DATE: Friday 23 & Saturday 24 January 2026 (6:30am – 6:30pm)
LOCATION: Buckland Road and Buckland Road / Sandgate Road intersection
DETAILS: Gantry installation works will be undertaken under approved traffic arrangements, resulting in temporary lane, footpath and pedestrian closures. On Friday, the westbound lane and footpath on Buckland Road will be closed, with pedestrians able to pass through the intersection where possible. On Saturday, additional closures will apply, including the Sandgate Road and Buckland Road footpaths and a temporary bus stop closure, to ensure safety during high-risk works. Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to guide road users and pedestrians, with Tuesday 27 January held as a backup day if required.
We will continue to provide updates as construction progresses. Thank you for your cooperation as we work towards delivering this exciting new development!
Frequently Asked Questions
Construction timing
Commenced February 2025 – completion early 2027 *weather pending.
Traffic, dust and noise management
- A traffic management plan will be established in coordination with local authorities for the many stages of works throughout the project. As the project has two sides on a busy and key intersection of the village there will inevitably be some short term disruption throughout the project to vehicles and pedestrians and some night works to accommodate safe working conditions for all stakeholders. This will be carefully worked through.
- Dust will be suppressed and managed throughout the project particularly through the initial civil works with water.
- The work hours will be in line with the local authorities directions and consideration of local neighbours.
